The LV18 has hosted live radio for over quarter of a century so putting on a live, licensed, station isn’t something new for us!
But it takes months of planning and the co-operation of so many individuals to make everything just ‘work’. Of course, the studio is available all year around and we are broadcasting on AM (1575kHz) and the internet throughout the year.
So, just add DJs? If only it was that simple! Sometimes, however, things just come together.
Joining us for our Pirate Radio Weekend, August 2026, are (in no egotistical order):
Olly Kinvig, Neon Nancy, Chris Morgan, Duke Anthony, Paul Windsor, Chris Cooper, Mandy Marton, Rick Marks, Stephen Foz Foster (pictured), Dave Kent, Tim Wardley and Chris B – twelve presenters covering four days of live radio from our floating studio!
Behind the scenes (mostly) we have:
Tony O’Neill, Heather O’Neill, Shiraz Turvey and Peter Kay
There’s also a few ladies who look after the garden or keep us fed and watered.
Not forgetting our special guests – you’ll have to listen to find out who they are!

If you would like to visit the ship during the live weekend then we’re open to visitors 11am to 4pm daily. Please note that access to the studio is at the discretion of the DJ and broadcast team so may not be possible during your visit. There is limited disabled access on board the ship.
